Accounting Supervisor

SRT, the area’s leading high-speed internet provider, is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our fiscal services team. The Accounting Supervisor will lead daily operations to maintain ledgers and financial, plant, and property records for SRT, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures. This professional will bring accounting skills as well as experience to guide and lead direct reports.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing monthly payroll to include initiating the payroll process, checking accuracy, and preparing associated payroll reports, tax reports, and tax deposits.
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts, including subsidiary ledgers, is required to balance the assets and liabilities for SRT Communications subsidiary companies. This includes preparing the appropriate monthly fixed and general journal entries.
  • Processing monthly financial reports, such as the monthly balance sheet, income statement, and report on changes.
  • Leading and providing direction to accounting clerks, assigning appropriate responsibilities and delegating duties as warranted.
  • Maintaining a general filing system for safekeeping financial accounting records and computerized accounting reports, records, and worksheets.
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly statements for customers and maintaining accurate account records.
  • Preparing quarterly tax reports; assisting with preparation of 1099s for applicable estate and general retirements of capital credits.
  • Maintaining work orders, continuing property records (CPRs), and supporting documents required to balance plant assets for parent company and subsidiaries. This includes preparing appropriate monthly fixed and general journal entries. 

 

Job Qualifications Include:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly accounting records and reports.
  • Maintain current and thorough understanding of accounting functions to monitor accounting functions, balance company assets and liabilities, and assist others.
  • Understand FCC Uniform System of Accounting for communications systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company financial and payroll information.
  • Operate computer and spreadsheet software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred.

Network Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other groups on initial network design and subsequent network changes to ensure changes are feasible and scalable within existing operational parameters.
  • Analyzes and trends system software errors, audits, and logs and takes corrective action.
  • Develops and executes maintenance plans to aid in prevention of software/hardware failures.
  • Analyzes network trouble reports and takes corrective action.
  • Creates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance and Operations Procedures (MOPS) for peers and lower-level technical staff.
  • Utilizes Operational System Support (OSS) logs and other associated system performance tools to ensure superior levels of service and comply with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Produces periodic reports of service exceptions, general health, and network performance.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Network Operations standard operating, escalation, and notification procedures.
  • Supports other work groups attempting to correct faults and provides interface with vendor support.
  • Supports and performs configuration of new equipment, lab testing, and network level configuration.
  • Research new network related services and determine software options and software design required to implement.
  • Reviews, coordinates, and implements software loads and updates.
  • Analyzes network task orders and service orders and makes necessary software changes.
  • Assists co-workers in performing complicated or unprecedented tasks.
  • Provides detailed technical assistance to internal and external customers as needed.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the other departments to minimize impact to customers during planned and unplanned service disruptions.
  • Advises LEC/IXC on signaling and other options and the turn-up of services.
  • Establishes and maintains network records and procedures via Company and Departmental knowledge management systems.
  • Aids in the development of departmental capital and operating budgets related. 
  • Participates in ongoing training to keep abreast of technical developments and the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The work requires the knowledge and ability to:

    • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to provide technical support to others and share information with co-workers.  Also, to communicate technical updates to others in the company.
    • Know voice and data networking architectures and personal computers.
    • Have technical aptitude and analytical skills to understand the network and interpret the impact of consequences of faults and failures.
    • Work with constant interruptions from unscheduled events such as internal and/or external customer demands or network events.
    • Critical thinking skills and ability to control and manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
    • Be on call and able to respond to call out requests.
  • 2-or 4-year STEM degree
  • Certification of MTCNA, Net+, Security+ or higher is required within 6 months of date of hire.
  • A minimum of 2 years of on-the-job training would be needed to gain knowledge of SRT’s network, technologies, policies, and procedures.
  • 3+ years’ experience in data networking or telecommunications switching with work experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Medium to large scale ethernet networks
    • FTTP access networks
    • SONET
    • Class 4/5 switching
    • Database management
    • Linux/Unix administration
  • Basic competency in at least one of the following languages:
    • PERL
    • PHP
    • C++
    • Java
    • Ruby
